Analyzing Witsen's drawings, Anatoly Nikolayevich, since many drawings are not even signed, tries to determine what is depicted, which place from which angle. This is extremely difficult to do. Many "objects" have long disappeared, those that have survived to this day have been rebuilt many times. One has to rely, perhaps, on icons and meager descriptions of other travelers. Much was possible to determine, to confirm the authenticity of what Witsen saw. And what about our "tower"?
