At the beginning of the twentieth century, a small book by the Italian professor of psychiatrist Giuseppe Lapponi was published, dedicated to the problems of spiritualism and hypnotism. The author of the book tells on its pages, in particular, about the circumstances of a whole series of very strange incidents, which he personally investigated. Lapponi interviewed all of their participants, delving into all the details.

He published a report on the results of his investigation in the aforementioned book, published in a small circulation and now almost completely forgotten even in his native Italy. Lapponi's brochure was also published in Russia.

The strange events that will be discussed concern the children of the Italian Pansini family, who lived in the town of Ruvo. And this whole absolutely amazing story began in 1901.

One evening, little Alfred, being seven years old, suddenly fell asleep in a room where at that moment his parents and their friends were having fun - they were conducting a session of spiritualism. In the course of subsequent sessions, he quickly fell asleep again. At the same time, the child spoke in a dream in a voice that was not characteristic of him in timbre. He broadcast like a man who has become skilled in oratory.

Sometimes he began to speak foreign languages - in Greek, French, Latin, or he recited by heart, without a single mistake, extensive passages from Dante's Divine Comedy. A few months later, the parents sent their son to study at the Biton Seminary.

For several years Alfred studied there regularly and calmly. However, in the seminary, amazing things happened to him. Whenever someone looked at him, mentally pondering a question, little Alfred immediately answered it in writing. At the age of ten, he left the seminary and returned home. His parents did not have the means to pay for his further studies there.

And immediately new anomalous phenomena began in the Pansini family's house, in the whirlwind of which, along with Alfred, his younger brother, eight-year-old Pavel, was involved. Once, both children were with their parents in the central square of their hometown of Ruvo.

It was nine o'clock in the morning when both of them literally melted into thin air.

Half an hour later, the monks of the Capuchin monastery in a completely different city of Molfetta found both crying children wandering in complete confusion in front of the monastery walls.

Another time, when in the middle of the day the Pansini family was preparing for dinner, little Paul was sent to the nearest shop to buy a bottle of wine. The child was waited for a good half hour, but he never returned from the shop. Meanwhile, his elder brother Alfred disappeared somewhere from the house.

Then something unprecedented happened! Both boys realized they were aboard a small barge sailing across the Mediterranean to the port of Trinitapoli. Stunned by this, they began to cry so much that the owner of the barge, who believed the "wild" story of two children who suddenly appeared on board the ship out of nowhere, turned his barge back.

He brought the boys to a coastal town, which was not far from our brothers' hometown. A kind artisan was found on the shore, who took upon himself the trouble of escorting the children to the doorstep of their home in the town of Ruvo.

In the following days, both children, instantly disappearing from Ruvo, were announced now in Bisceglie, now in Marriott, now in Terlitsia, now in other cities. And they were brought back by order of the local authorities, who had already been notified about this "strange couple of enchanted boys who can instantly jump from one city to another."

This continued to happen to Alfred and Paul in the months that followed. Their mother, sobbing loudly, took her children to the local mayor, Señor Berardi. And she begged him to help her get Alfred back into the seminary he had abandoned. She wanted to get him away from the city, where ominous rumors of "devilry" were spreading in the Pansini family.

While Señor Berardi was discussing her request with the woman, the children suddenly disappeared from the room right before the eyes of the astonished mayor, who was shocked by this fact to the core. By his order and with his personal financial support, Alfred was again sent to the seminary.

This happened, of course, only after Alfred and his younger brother had once again been "caught" in one of the neighboring cities.

Alfred's second stay at the seminary clearly benefited him. Over the years, he completely lost his most amazing supernatural powers.
