Frederick Valentich was an Australian aviator who disappeared on October 21, 1978. This event is surrounded by mystery, controversy and skepticism.
The reason for this is that his disappearance appears to be related to a UFO, which, according to Valentich himself, “played games” with him a few minutes before the radio control lost contact with him. He was twenty years old at the time.
On October 21, 1978, at 6:19 pm, Frederick Valentich left Melbourne, Australia to begin a 125-mile training flight to Kings Island. Some time after the start of the flight, Frederic Valentich established radio contact with air traffic controllers in Melbourne and said that he saw a certain flying object next to him.
The man could not understand what exactly he saw, as the speed was too high to make out the suspicious aircraft more closely. Valentich several times notified the dispatcher about the appearance of an object in the field of view. Towards the end of the exchange between Melbourne's air traffic controllers and Frederick Valentich, Frederick complained that his engine was "coughing."
Soon radio communication with the pilot was lost, and the dispatchers heard only the noise of metal and strange loud sounds, after which the ship disappeared from the radar. The last words that air traffic controllers officially heard from Friedrich Valentich were: "This is not an airplane." After the disappearance of the pilot, search measures were carried out, which did not lead to success. Frederick was never seen again.
One interesting fact should be mentioned here: Frederic Valentich studied UFOs in the past and took a special interest in them. Does this mean that he made it all up? Of course not. Does this mean that aliens were chasing him because of his interest in UFOs? This is highly unlikely.
Friedrich Valentich could very well have encountered a UFO, but there is no real evidence that his disappearances are related to aliens. The most likely scenario is that he encountered an engine malfunction (with or without the assistance of a UFO) and crashed in the ocean, where the plane and possibly his body remain to this day.
Several theories have been put forward regarding the disappearance of Friedrich Valentich. All of them are based on some truths, although they are just assumptions, since no one still knows what exactly happened on that fateful night.

Some believe that Frederick decided to play a joke on air traffic controllers, but the pilot's father repeatedly called this version stupidity and argued that his son would never do such things. There are also those who believe that Valentich committed suicide.
But the most popular theory, of course, concerns alien capture. Many believe that there was a sudden engine failure due to the interference of an unidentified flying object. Unfortunately, none of the versions can be officially confirmed, so the mystery of the disappearance of Frederic Valentich will probably remain unsolved.
