On March 28, 1974, a young photographer from Cincinnati managed to take a series of photographs of a flying saucer. 16-year-old high school student Robert Schwier walked through the local city park. Having made several photographs along the way with the Kodak X-15, he went out to a forest clearing at about 15 o'clock. Suddenly, the young man heard a faint, unusual buzzing noise. Looking up, he saw a domed silver object hovering above the trees, glittering in the sun.
After the object began to gain altitude after a while and easily slid to the side, the young man decided to take the first picture. By this time, the object had moved a considerable distance from the observer - even its buzz was not audible. At one point, the object described a hook-shaped figure in the sky and hung again in the air. After that, he began to slowly move eastward, and Robert Schwier pressed the photo release a second time. Before the "flying saucer" quickly disappeared from sight, the young man managed to take the third and final picture. The entire observation lasted no more than 45 seconds. According to Robert, the diameter of the object is from 5 to 8 meters. He did not notice any windows, mechanisms or other features.

Subsequently, Robert Schwier said:
First of all, I myself could hardly believe that I had seen all this with my own eyes. The object performed such maneuvers that would simply not be possible for our aircraft. I did not tell anyone about what had happened, because apart from the pictures I had no evidence, that is, witnesses. It was clear to me that the very first attempt to publish the pictures would be regarded as a clever falsification. They also seemed to me to be insufficiently documented.
Prior to this event, I referred to myself as “unbelievers,” as they say. After all that I saw, I became interested in the problems of ufology and realized that I must certainly inform the public about what had happened. Too often, our military departments pass off UFOs for hallucinations, swamp lights, and other nonsense.
Robert Schwier presented his photographs for examination to the photographic engineer and director of ICUFON Coleman von Kevitsky, who made a large increase in the photographs in order to be able to compare the graininess of the structures taken. According to the expert, there was a little more than a kilometer between the object and Robert. The lack of sharpness is due to the presence of halo-shaped fog around the object and due to the strong sun glare from the metal surface.
