Unique plant-based drug created by Russian scientists
An effective remedy for the destruction of cancer cells was developed by scientists from the Saratov State Medical University named after V. I. Razumovsky. In their research, they turned to traditional medicine. And for good reason. They managed to find a plant that our ancestors were treated with for centuries and which turned out to be unique in its properties even today.
"Saratov scientists have developed a new generation of antitumor agent based on the extract of the medicinal avran," Vladimir Komarov, press secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Energy of the Saratov Region, told TASS. He recalled that avran is a herb widespread in Eurasia and North America. In large quantities, it is poisonous. However, when used correctly, it shows amazing results: "The agent is able to make tumor cells die 'voluntarily', through apoptosis (a regulated process of programmed cell death), without consequences for the body as a whole," said Komarov.
Skilled herbalists in the old days knew that in small doses, Avran helps with heart failure and liver problems, is an emetic and antihelminthic agent, and helps with fever and eczema. And even with the advent of modern medicine, Avran was used for a long time in the treatment of tuberculosis. But the elimination of malignant tumors with its help is literally a breakthrough in medicine, since a remedy based on Avran turned out to be effective and at the same time completely non-toxic. Moreover, this herb is unpretentious and grows literally everywhere. Therefore, the new drug is very cheap - the cost of one gram of the drug based on Avran is about 80 rubles, Komarov said.
Saratov scientists have already conducted tests, which gave a positive result, and have already received 8 patents for their invention. The search for an investor who can finance preclinical and clinical trials is underway.
