Physicists estimate that the fall towards the center of the Earth will take about 1.8 years. For the first time, scientists managed to solve the well-known problem of a body falling in a well, taking into account many factors that were previously missed by specialists. They needed to take into account only the fact that the mass is evenly distributed over the entire surface of the globe, and there is no air in the so-called well. After that, according to Newton's second law, it was possible to derive an equation similar to an oscillator of a harmonic type, which is an ordinary pendulum.
Substituting all known values of the falling body to the center of the Earth, scientists calculated that the period of oscillation would be 85 minutes. As a result, the journey from one point to another will take a little over 40 minutes if you manage to get out.
