This article will focus on a phenomenon that goes beyond intuition or premonition: people reported seeing their relatives and thus learned of their death. They did not know in advance about the death of their loved ones.

The following is a compilation of dozens of cases compiled by Dr. Bruce Grayson of the University of Virginia in his 2010 report, Visions of Dead People Without Knowing Their Death, which was published by the American Anthropology Association.

Dr. Grayson writes, "Cases like these are the most compelling evidence that consciousness continues after death."

A boy in a fever sees his sister with deceased relatives

9-year-old Eddie Kumo suffered from a fever for almost two days. He woke up at 3:00 am when the temperature subsided and told his parents and Dr. C. M. Dale that he had seen family members who had died, including his grandfather. The boy also saw his 19-year-old sister Teresa, who was in college.

Eddie's dad spoke to her a few days ago and she was fine. But later that day, the family learned that Teresa had died in a car crash at midnight - a few hours before Eddie slept.

She continued to talk about "poor Eddie" until her death that day. It was later revealed that Eddie did indeed get sick, he had a fever, while being ill, he fell off his horse and died on the same day his mother had a vision.

The story is described in the book Notes of the Society of the Paranormal in 1899.

The boy saw his mother's school love

A 7-year-old boy was dying of leukemia and told his mom that he was in heaven. In heaven, he saw a man who introduced himself as a school friend of his mother who died in a car accident. The woman is sure that she never told her son about her former lover. She later learned that he died on the same day her son had a vision.

The case is described by pediatricians Melvin Morse and Paul Perry in their book Closer to the Light: Lessons from NDEs in Children, 1990.
