An archaeological team led by Igor Polievktovich Kukshin discovered a strange burial in Vologda, which was located in the medieval cultural layer of the city.

A coffin with human remains was found on Udarnikov Street. The strange thing about it was at least the fact that in the Middle Ages people were not buried in single graves, such burials, of course, are found, but very rarely, most often on former churchyards at temples. The closest church, which once stood on the site of Udarnikov Street, is the Church of St. Basil the Great, however, he could not have a cemetery in the place where excavations are now taking place. Then, at the churchyard, other burials would certainly have been found, and here there is only one coffin. Apparently, the person buried here was a man about one hundred and sixty centimeters tall.

The second oddity of this burial ground is simply mystical. As Igor Polievktovich himself told reporters, just before his group discovered the burial, a woman, seemingly the most ordinary, approached him and told that she had lived in this place until the mid-nineties of the last century. There was a residential building here, and that house was considered bad. Some mystical things were constantly happening in it.

Either in the middle of the night there are knocks on the door or windows, heavy steps in the neighboring rooms, or even in the bedroom where you sleep, objects begin to move, and in the daytime in front of everyone. I saw a woman and a ghost, which caused not so much fear as pity. It was felt that someone's restless soul was struggling like this, but it is not clear why it lingered in this place. Maybe buried somewhere nearby.

Just a couple of hours later, no more, says the head of the archaeological group, we found the remains of this restless soul. By the way, a Vologda woman said that the spirit calmed down a little after the residents of the house called the priest and he held a prayer service. Although she personally continued to hear his nightly groans …

The remains of a medieval inhabitant of these places have been dated by archaeologists to the fifteenth - seventeenth centuries. However, this is approximate, more accurately the date will be established after the complete clearing of the burial. The remains of the man will be examined, and then, according to Christian tradition, they will be reburied in the mass grave of the Gorbachev cemetery in Vologda. It seems that after this the soul will finally rest, having gone to the subtle world of the dead. Apparently, she had to stay on Earth and suffer a lot - apparently, he was a very sinful man …
