Psychics and sorcerers of all stripes have occupied our media so tightly that the question arises: how did we live without them before? But it became really creepy when, in one of the popular programs, the "bearers of the gift" suddenly began to methodically solve the murders (in the background, confused employees of the Investigative Committee blinked and nodded in surprise). Isn't this a prank?

- When you have about 20 years of investigative experience behind you, what we call professional instinct is developed, - says Olga Istomina, deputy head of the Motovilikhinsky interdistrict investigation department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Perm Territory. - That is, a lot of things go to the subconscious level: a bunch of small clues, signs, gestures, many of which cannot be described in words - you just feel them. You look at a person and at some point, like an inner voice says to you: "He's lying" or "This is him." Another thing is that knowing and proving are not the same thing. The meaning of our work is in building an evidence base, and not in juggling facts to fit our "insights".
However, how much is it possible, and if possible, how effective is it to attract psychics to solve crimes?
“Recently in Moscow we listened to a course of lectures that just touched on this topic: parapsychologists, clairvoyants, and so on,” says Boris Kazachenko, a senior criminal investigator of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the Perm Territory. - We were told that this phenomenon is not a fiction, but it is real not in the sense that a person can “see” whenever he wants and what he wants. A person is "illuminated" as if suddenly. They gave an example that out of 400 declared psychics, only half a percent passed the tests and proved that they clearly possess certain abilities. But how to recognize these two among four hundred people? In addition, there is a rare form of schizophrenia, in which at a certain stage of the disease the percentage of clairvoyance reaches 86. Therefore, they say that if a schizophrenic begins to tell you something, you should not dismiss him.

I decided to try to attract a psychic friend to the search - why not? The woman immediately described the foundation pit that the accused was pointing to. At the same time, neither know him,let alone meet with him (by that time he had already been in jail for a long time) she could not. Several more times they called the divers and searched the bottom, but, unfortunately, they did not find anything. But the very fact that she described with stunning accuracy a place that she could not know, and her description coincided with the words of a murderer whom she had never seen … isn't that mystic? Crawling out dead
Stories about how the unavenged souls of the murdered themselves help the investigation. much more than stories about the real help of psychics in solving crimes. It is another matter that people in uniform do not like to talk about miracles for obvious reasons. But there are, there are exceptions. So, a grief-stricken man ran to the Motovilikha department. A few days ago his daughter disappeared. Having written a statement to the police, the father "for the sake of fidelity" went to the fortune-teller. She stated that her daughter was killed, described the quarry and even the slope in which she was buried. Indicated the signs of the place. The unfortunate man took a shovel, reached the quarry, easily found a freshly dug hole and dug up … the corpse of an outsider girl! It is not known whether the man's daughter was eventually found, but the murderers of the girl he discovered were found, their crime was proven, and they themselves went to jail.
For no reason at all, a citizen came to the Sverdlovsk department and laid out all the details of the night murder two years ago, which was committed by her brother, and she herself became a witness to the crime. When investigators asked what prompted her to make the statement, the girl replied that every day she had to walk past the scene of the murder. At first she was just scared, and then from there … the murdered guy began to "greet" her!
A taxi driver has disappeared in the Kirovsky district of Perm. The killer, a resident of the Perm village of Mysy, literally stopped sleeping and eating, he could not find a place for himself: it all seemed to him that he had not hid the body reliably enough. Even in a dream I saw how the corpse was found, or the dogs would tear it off, or … he himself crawled out of the ground. They took a half-insane killer during the next excavation of the remains - this man behaved very strangely recently, which attracted attention.

In the same Kirovsky district, in a garage cooperative, they found the body of a stabbed man. Attesting witnesses were brought in to carry out investigative actions. And then the mother of the murdered man cried out, pointing her finger at one of them: “He! Is he! - she wanted to say that her son was leaving with him to the garage, but suddenly stopped short - as if something had struck her in her heart. The man turned pale under the frozen maternal gaze and muttered:
- I didn’t want to, he himself was the first to climb!
As for the so-called psychics, both operatives and investigators have a fairly definite unanimous opinion on this score:
- No real sorcerer or psychic will advertise himself. Not to mention working on a show for money. In addition, almost all clairvoyants suffer from various ailments caused by mental stress.
