This story was told by an eyewitness who wished to remain anonymous. The American researcher of mysterious creatures Lon Strickler published his story on his website.
“To begin with, a little background,” the author begins, “I am a huge fan of reptiles and until recently I collected and bred rare pythons at home.
In 2015, I saw an ad on Facebook for an expedition to hunt reptiles in the jungle of Peru. At the head of the expedition they promised one of the best specialists in reptiles, and soon I was already in Peru in dreams of catching a little caiman for my collection.
It was a great event and I made friends there with a few other snake and lizard fans. The next year, 2016, for a good reason, I could not take part in the second trip, but when I saw such an advertisement again in 2017, I immediately signed up there.
The trip was in October and from the capital of Peru we left for the small town of Iquitos, which was simply buried in the jungle and there were no normal roads, mostly people either moved by private planes or boats. Due to hurricane Irma, the flight had to be postponed a little, but then I flew there and arrived at the place of the first overnight stay in a small local hotel.
The hotel was made like this. that from your room you could hear all the sounds of the wild and enjoy them. Instead of a ceiling-to-floor window, there was a large curtain, there were no locks on the doors, only light latches. The furniture in the room was only a bed and a bedside table. The hotel had 11 or 12 rooms in total, which accommodated all members of our group.
Until the night we basically just sat in the common room and lounged around, and around 10 pm we began to disperse to our rooms. Early in the morning, already at 5 o'clock, we had to get up and go into the wild jungle, and nevertheless, I still chatted with someone until 2 am and only then went to my place.

And that's where it all started.
First, there was a strong and persistent knock on my door and someone's voice insistently began to call me by name. And it wasn't even the knock that surprised me, but the last one, no one on the trip knew my real name, everywhere I introduced myself as my nickname from Facebook.
I decided to ignore both the knock and the call and decided to pretend I was dreaming. Gradually everything calmed down again. And suddenly I realized that the curtain on the wall was partially opened by someone and that I could look straight from my room into the night jungle. I got up and walked over to the curtain and took it off completely. Now I stood and looked at the dark trees, and from there something was also looking at me intently.
I didn't see it, but I felt it clearly. There was some vibe or something in the air. And then a telepathic cry suddenly rang out in my head "Close the curtain immediately and go to sleep!" I don't know what it was or who it was, but I immediately obeyed the order.
I lay in bed for about 5 minutes and then I heard a strange mechanical "Bummp" signal very close. I didn't know if it was something artificial or maybe the sound of one of the jungle animals, but soon I heard the sounds of the presence of three unusual animals very close.
It felt like they were right under my window. And they GROOKED loudly like some big animal. The grunt was like the usual one that pigs make. But I suddenly realized that these are not just sounds, they talk like that! These creatures communicated with each other as intelligent creatures.
And they didn't just talk. I understood that they were talking about orders and some commands. And then one of those creatures suddenly hissed loudly, just like a reptile! And it was then that I realized that all these sounds are heard very loudly and if I can hear them, then the rest of our group members should hear them no less clearly.
I lay there, listening for another 30-45 minutes, and then again I heard an incomprehensible metallic sound like a "beep". He walked along the outside of the building, and then he was right under my room. And then I finally not only heard something, but also saw.
A bright beam of light entered through the door into the room, and during a flash of this light, I managed to notice a little behind the movement of some creature that jumped into another room. I lay in shock and tried to think and the headline of the news ran through my head that “a group of tourists disappeared without a trace in the jungles of Peru”.
Then I lost track of time. I don’t know how many minutes passed, maybe 10, maybe 20. I continued to hear a strange metal “beep” and see flashes of light that was walking around the hotel. And then I saw again how a certain creature jumped towards a different number and disappeared somewhere inside it.
And this sequence was repeated 4-5 more times. A rounded moving light, a signal and a leap of an incomprehensible creature into one of the numbers. And every time the creature jumped into the room to the person, I listened to how the person began to moan as if from severe pain. I decided that these creatures are killing people or torturing them.
But when this creature jumped towards room 6, something went wrong and I heard a furious hiss and roar. And then there was complete silence.
I jumped out of my room and went to the one where there was a hiss. I wanted to see at least something, or maybe even shoot with my phone. And then something burst into my brain again and began to order me to come back and go to bed.
Then I bumped into a guy who was already getting up and preparing breakfast and realized that all the strange was gone. Then other members of the group began to get up and dress, and I looked at them and wondered how many of them were victims of the attack of the creatures and what happened to them. But then I saw that everything was in place and everything was fine with them.
Then I behaved as usual, but painfully thought about what had happened that night. Then I started asking one by one if they had heard strange sounds at night and saw something unusual in the rooms. And EVERY person told me that he slept perfectly all night and did not hear anything.
All 20 people in our group slept so soundly that night that they did not even go to the toilet or drink water. Nobody even snored!
Needless to say, all our subsequent overnight stays were the most ordinary, without sounds, creatures, with snoring, getting up to the toilet and so on. Therefore, I began to assume that these creatures did not torture people, but introduced them into some kind of trance for purposes that only they could understand.
Maybe they needed people to sleep and during this they did something with them that was not visible externally.
I swear that everything described is 100% true. The rest of the trip went well, but that night was the scariest experience of my life."
