In an article in the scientific journal Annals of Physics, scientists have suggested that our entire Milky Way galaxy may be one giant space-time tunnel, also known as a "wormhole" or wormhole. Even more interesting, the scientists behind this loud statement believe that if the Milky Way galaxy could really be one continuous giant wormhole, then we could travel through it to the rest of the distant regions of space without any problems.

As mentioned above, wormholes are usually called space-time tunnels, at one end of which space and time are in one state, and at the other end - in a completely different state. In other words, such tunnels are a kind of bridge between space and time regions of space that are distant from each other.

Surely you are wondering how scientists even came to the assumption that our galaxy is a wormhole, if they themselves have not yet found any observable evidence of the existence of such objects?

And they came to this assumption after carrying out a very serious mathematical analysis of the distribution of dark matter in our galaxy and the influence of the hypothetical Big Bang on this process.

Astrophysicist Paolo Salucci tried to explain the conclusions reached in the course of this monumental mathematical analysis:

“If we put in one basket the map of the distribution of dark matter in the Milky Way and the latest model of the Big Bang, which explains how the Universe came to be, and also hypothetically accept the fact of the existence of space-time tunnels, then we will really get evidence that our galaxy contains at least one of these tunnels. And the size of the tunnel can be the size of the entire galaxy."

“And if we believe the mathematical data, we can travel through this tunnel. In fact, just as we could see it in one of the sci-fi blockbusters Interstellar,”says a researcher at the International Institute for Advanced Research (SISSA, Italy).

In other words, this hypothesis assumes that our entire galaxy is one continuous "wormhole". According to Paolo Salucci and his fellow researchers, spiral galaxies, such as, for example, our neighbor, the Andromeda galaxy, may also be home to "wormholes" or be themselves some giant wormholes.
