A baby girl named Ah Nit was born in February 2018 in a remote village in Cambodia. The condition of her skull was such that the doctors had no doubt that the baby would die any day.
The upper parts of the child's skull were opened like tulip petals, and the back of the head was strongly elongated, part of the brain went into it. According to doctors, this is a rare case of anencephaly.
Anencephaly is a gross malformation of the brain, which means the partial or complete absence of the bones of the cranial vault and soft tissues, as well as the cerebral hemispheres.
But the baby didn't die. For more than two months he was in the hospital, connected to an oxygen regulator, and then the girl was discharged and now she is with her parents in the village.
Seeing the newborn, the girl's parents cried bitterly. In an effort to find treatment for their daughter, they sold all the property they had - a house and a vegetable garden. Now all their hopes are connected with finding a good specialist who can operate on their child.
