We talked about the “Smiling Man” phenomenon in detail in early articles here and here. Below is a very recent case of a meeting with this creature that occurred in 2015.

This story was told by a user with the nickname "sprontos".

“I was born on the evening of July 24, 1975 in New York and was born prematurely, a month ahead of schedule. At that time my parents were visiting my mother's relatives.

This information may seem like an unimportant detail of clarification, but in fact it all has to do with the story itself.

In 2015, my friend decided to give me a birthday present and a few days before it ordered tickets for both of us to New Orleans, where we were to celebrate the holiday. We did a great job and immediately after the party on my birthday flew home by plane.

The flight went perfectly fine, except for two things. The first concerned a middle-aged man sitting next to us. He was looking in our direction all the time and a wide and lusciously tender smile never left his face.

I didn't really care about his appearance, he didn't talk or make any special movements, but he sat with that smile all the time and as a result it began to seem very strange and even frightening.

Then the second thing happened. It happened when the plane began to land, it suddenly began to shake and the shaking was not as during usual turbulence, but much more severe. My friend and I looked at each other with fright and were ready to scream.

Then I again threw a glance at our strange neighbor and saw that he was looking directly at me and that gentle smile was still on his face. And then he said in a calm, firm voice, "Don't worry, THIS plane will land safely."

Then he turned his head and started looking straight ahead, still smiling.

The plane shook a little more roughly, but then everything calmed down and we really sat down normally. While the plane was stopping, the pilot said over the radio that there were some special weather conditions with strong winds and thanked everyone for the flight.

After his words, everyone breathed a sigh of relief, but with all my senses I felt like there was a strong smell of fear in the cabin. Then we all began to go out and all this time I felt that that man with a smile continued to look at me. Finally we left the airport and I was relieved to try to forget about all the troubles.

But last year I accidentally stumbled upon the chronicle of air crashes and what I read gave goosebumps. I read about a Boeing 727 of Eastern Airlines Flight, which was flying to New York from New Orleans on July 24, 1975 and crashed while landing.

Of the 124 people on board, 113 were killed. The cause of the disaster was called bad weather conditions (there was a strong thunderstorm).

A few hours after this plane crash in New York I was prematurely born, and exactly 40 years later I was on the same flight and my neighbor was this frightening smiling man who said these strange words about "THIS plane will land normally."
