Scientists from Germany, Norway and Denmark have found that one in ten people experiences a near-death experience. The overwhelming majority of the “dying” respondents had a distorted perception of time, more than two-thirds of the senses were greatly heightened and mental activity increased. A number of people interviewed who faced the "breath of death" told the scientists about "angelic singing" and "light at the end of the tunnel."

About 10% of people admitted to experiencing near-death conditions and sensations. This was reported by a research group from research institutes in Germany, Denmark and Norway, reports the MedicalXpress website.

More than 1,000 people from 35 countries took part in the poll. Near-death experiences were reported by 289 people.

Among the "dying" about 87% distortedly perceived time, and more than 50% reported "leaving their own body." About two-thirds of the tenth of the respondents spoke about an increase in the speed of thinking and a strong heightened sense. There are also reports of auditory hallucinations and "a demon sitting on their ribcage [during sleep paralysis]."

A number of respondents noted that they felt someone else's presence before going to bed and "saw a light at the end of the tunnel." In addition, "angel singing" and "incredible peace" are popular.

Scientists note that near-death experiences are characteristic of both people who are faced with real danger - who have recently survived a car accident, and those who are not in immediate danger.

Archpriest of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) Vsevolod Chaplin, in a conversation with the NSN, noted that the results of scientific research prove the existence of an afterlife.

According to him, the presence of such experience in people testifies in favor of the theory, according to which a person does not disappear, ending his earthly journey.

“[This] confirms what any priest is talking about all the time - this life is not the main one, it is not the last. This life is just an entrance exam to prepare for another, better life. And there is only one way to prepare for it - to join the true faith, and there is only one, and to do good deeds that are inseparable from the true faith, "Chaplin emphasized.

The priest of the Russian Orthodox Church said that he had received communion and confessed the dying. Chaplin noted that sometimes unconscious people in response to a "formal" request for repentance opened their eyes and said "in words or signs" that they were asking God for forgiveness.

“Let's remember that the prudent robber, who was crucified next to Christ on the cross, repented and converted to the true faith, the faith of Christ, at the last moment of his life, being on the verge of death,” the archpriest added.

A week earlier, Tina Hynes, an American woman from Phoenix, Arizona, who had died for 27 minutes, spoke about the "next world." The woman had a heart attack, but her heart stopped on the way to the hospital - she was dead for almost half an hour.

According to FAN, after regaining consciousness, Hynes asked the doctors for a pen and a notebook. She wrote that “it's true,” referring to life in heaven.

In her words, in the “next world” everything was “for real” and the colors were “very bright”. In addition, the American woman suggested that she saw "a figure like Jesus" in front of the "black gates with golden light pouring out of them."

Despite frequent reports of afterlife experiences in the course of clinical death, scientists have serious disagreements about the question of "life after death", although in general the attitude towards these statements remains very skeptical.

In April, a group of astrophysicists at the California Polytechnic Institute reported that quantum testing could confirm the existence of an afterlife. According to scientist Sean Carroll, these experiments would allow "to definitely detect some particles of spirit", reports the portal PhysicsBuzz.

The report of the specialists says that such studies have already been carried out, and scientists have not deduced the "share of the spirit" - therefore, there is no life after death. Carroll added that the team is referring to the quantum field theory that there is an individual field for all particles.

According to physicists, life after death can exist only with the separation of human consciousness from the physical body. However, the human brain is made up of atoms that are unable to store information from the brain after death. Carroll also urged people to stop believing in an afterlife.
