The lost kitten returned to the family ten years later. This was reported by the Metro.

A ginger-white cat named Harry disappeared from his home in Great Yartmouth, Norfolk in 2008, when he was still a kitten. One day he did not come home from the garden when the owner called him. Its owner, 39-year-old Mark Salisbury, thought he would never see the pet again, but regularly updated his information at the veterinary clinic so that he could be contacted if the cat was suddenly found. A man bought two sibling kittens together on a farm near the city and chipped them.

Ten years later, Harry was found at an animal shelter in Ipswich in neighboring Suffolk County, 80 kilometers from Great Yartmouth. There Salisbury found out that all these years Harry had not been wandering: he was picked up by an old man who had died only recently. The old man's neighbor brought the pet to the orphanage, where employees microchipped and found the real owner.

Harry now lives with Salisbury's mother, as the family decided that he might not get along with his brother.

Animal shelter employee Susie Winship noted that it is very important to microchip cats, as well as take the matched animals to veterinarians so that they can scan the chip and find the owners.
