The last day of August this year turned out to be sunny and not cool like summer. What self-respecting mushroom picker, looking out the window early in the morning, can sit at home? So I, trying not to wake my loved ones, hastily gathered, had a snack and a cup of hot coffee, went on a mushroom hunt.
Although mushrooms grow, one might say, right outside the outskirts, I prefer to go after them to places farther from civilization. This time my path led to an abandoned village on the banks of an unnamed forest river. In the distant past, people chose its shores and traces of their activities have survived to this day, but this is a separate story. And on this day, carried away by the search for "white" and "redheads", wandered into a clearing hidden by a dense forest.
Fear. I can't say it was fear. Rather, a feeling of inconvenience and understanding on a subconscious level that you are not alone here and your presence is undesirable. Looking around carefully, I saw a birch not far away. I decided to come up. There was a deep hole in the ground under the tree. "Like an empty eye socket" - a comparison flashed, and the feeling of inconvenience intensified. However, even more perplexity was caused by a tree located three meters from the birch.
As a whole, it probably reached two and a half or three meters in height. But at the moment when I saw him, his top was broken off, and the trunk and the growing branches below were twisted so that the places of the twist turned into just fibers. Around the tree there was an almost even circle with a diameter of a meter and a half, the sod was whole, and the grass on it was crushed counterclockwise. The foliage on the tree and the grass were perfectly fresh. It was as if the “something” that did this was here just recently.
Remembering that I had a "soap dish" (camera) in my pocket, I decided to photograph everything in the most thorough way. Because I faced such a phenomenon for the first time, and I wandered through the forests since childhood a lot and saw everyone. With all this, the feeling of my unwanted presence grew stronger and stronger, and the feeling that someone was watching you grew every minute.
Having focused the camera on a tree trunk, I took a picture and immediately a hundred meters away on the other side of the clearing there was a crackling of branches and an incomprehensible, like a crunch, noise. Casting a glance in the direction of the sounds, I noticed a large old tree, twisted either by time, or by someone's monstrous power. I managed to take a picture in that direction, and then the growing feeling of inconvenience was replaced by horror. A chill ran down my spine, I wanted to leave faster, to leave this place.

Calmed down only on the other side of the river. I understood that I had taken few pictures, but I simply could not bring myself to go back. After walking a kilometer from the place, I completely calmed down. Eyewitness accounts of meetings with the Yeti began to pop up in my memory. He convinced himself that it might have been a bear, but there were no claw marks on the tree or on the ground. Moose? But the bark on the tree was intact.
The next day I told my friends about this strange incident. Two healthy men could not twist a twig as thick as a little finger, and the trunk of the tree was 4 - 5 centimeters thick. So decide what power the creature possesses that turned and turned the tree trunk into fibers?
