The interview tells about the events of July 1947, 70 years ago, the year that will forever be written in the history of ufology as the year of the UFO crash in Roswell, New Mexico (Roswell Incident). This incident all these 70 years still baffles historians, ufologists and everyone who at least once heard about it, since many legends have accumulated around it, either confirming the version of a UFO crash with the bodies of aliens discovered, or completely denying it.
Skeptics claim that a meteorological balloon or a balloon just fell in the New Mexico desert. The last time an official investigation of the incident was carried out in 1994 at the request of the US Congressman from the state of New Mexico. Comparison of all the information received allowed the commission to conclude that the object found in Roswell was most likely a device from one of the Mogul Project balloons (a secret US Air Force project involving the use of microphones on balloons flying at high altitude).
Debris from a fallen object
Ufologists, naturally, did not agree with this conclusion. In their opinion, an alien ship and their equipment fell in New Mexico, the bodies of the dead pilots (as well as some surviving crew members) fell into the hands of the American government, which has been hiding the truth for all these years and is creating its secret military aircraft based on alien technologies.
In the interview, which the British newspaper describes as being published for the first time, former Deputy Charles Fogus details what they (with Sheriff Slaughter) saw at the scene. An unidentified object fell near the riverbed, and Slaughter and Fogus of Texas learned of the incident from police radio communications. They decided to go there, although it was not very close to them, in a neighboring state.
- When we got to the place, there were many soldiers. They were dragging a large creature … These bodies were about 5 feet (1.5 m) tall, I saw their arms and legs, they looked like human beings. Their skin was brownish, as if they had been in the sun for a very long time and were deeply tanned. There were a lot of soldiers there, about three or four hundred. We saw them transfer bodies from the canyon and put them in trucks.

When asked if they saw the heads of the aliens, Fogus replied that their heads were covered:
“They were covered, but their eyes were visible. They were what they show on TV.
Then Fogus talks out loud about what he saw.
- The Great Father not only created our planet, he also created them on their planets just like us on ours. And they are smarter than us.
According to Fogus, about 20 minutes after they arrived there, they were approached and asked to leave the place.
An interview with the now aged Charles Fogus was recorded by Los Angeles-based private detective Diana Short in 1999. Diana asked Fogus if he remembers well the events that happened 52 years ago and Fogus replied that he remembers them very clearly.
Then Diana asked him to draw what a crashed UFO looked like, but Fogus's hand was injured and he asked Diana to draw herself according to his descriptions. According to the result, the object looked like an inverted saucer and was almost round on top.
Fogus said that he did not have very good eyesight, but he clearly saw this object from above from the top of the hill lying below. The object was about 100 feet (30 meters) in diameter.
