Scientists have been able to determine that love affects the functioning of the human brain, experts from the People's Republic of China report. The authors of the work organized an experiment in which one hundred respondents took part, all of them were divided into three groups.

The first group consisted of respondents who had lovers and they had real feelings for them. In the second group, the participants had already parted ways with their partners, and in the third group there were single participants, those who had not yet been able to find their soul mate.

It was found that those in the first group were active in those areas of the brain that are responsible for motivation, reward, and social cognition. In people from the second, these areas were calm, but the caudal nucleus of the brain was functioning. The respondents from the third group did not have such active zones.

The authors of the work found that love still affects the activity of the human brain, and as scientists note, these findings will help determine whether a particular person is truly in love.
