I accidentally found one archive photo on the Internet. Group photo. The photo shows two non-commissioned officers of the SS troops in field uniforms and a middle-aged civilian woman. There is almost no data on the photograph. Presumably this is a group photo of the instructors and instructors of the Third Reich intelligence school. I immediately noticed that the mustachioed German is incredibly similar to Semyon Zolotarev. Let me remind you that Semyon was a participant in Igor Dyatlov's campaign in 1959. His biography raises a lot of questions today. Semyon was a veteran of the Great Patriotic War. Now he is buried at the Ivanovskoye cemetery in Yekaterinburg. His ashes were recently exhumed by journalists from a federal publication.
The German is dressed in the uniform of a non-commissioned officer of the SS troops. The title of Unterscharführer was created during the SS reorganization that followed Night of the Long Knives, during which several new titles were created to separate the SS from the SA. The title of SS Unterscharführer was created from the old title of the SA Scharführer. After 1934, the rank of SS Unterscharführer became equal to the rank of Scharführer SA. The title of Unterscharführer was the first non-commissioned officer rank in the SS and the most widespread in the SS. In the general SS, the Unterscharführer usually commanded a squad of seven to fifteen men. The title was also widely used in all Nazi law enforcement agencies such as the Gestapo, SD and Einsatzgruppen.
For comparison, I used the photo method of overlaying different photos. Found pictures taken just after the war. The angle and scale of the photograph allowed us to use it for comparison. I must say right away that the photographs coincided by 90%. They are one and the same person. I have no doubts about that.
Although this is not related to the cause of the death of the group of tourists. However, now it is already obvious that Semyon was a scout. Used as an NKVD agent in the rear of the Germans. This means that his entire frontline biography is unknown to us. From here it becomes clear for what reasons the case of the death of the Dyatlov group was classified. I don’t know about you, but I really admire Semyon. In fact, there were very, very few such heroes. Semyon was just such a hero!
