Former Commander-in-Chief of the Aerospace Forces (VKS) of Russia, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security Viktor Bondarev in an interview with TASS spoke about the war of the future.

“There will be a war of high technologies, and it is already clear that it is almost impossible to resist modern weapons with a rifle and a machine gun. The most important role is played by conducting reconnaissance from space and airspace control, control and guidance of cruise missiles. This is information about the movements of the enemy, about the preparation of operations, offensives, and so on,”the military explained.

According to him, during the Syrian campaign "we learned to fight in a new way," and "subsequent wars will go not only in the air, but also in the space sphere, and the priority will be given to the corresponding service or kind of armed forces."

Bondarev also reported on promising developments in Russian weapons. According to him, the strategic missile carrier Tu-160 is still "unmatched in the world." "Now, when the production of this aircraft is resumed, so much new will be invested in it that it will be a supernova aircraft for another 40 years," the military stressed.

Bondarev called the Su-57 fifth-generation fighter under construction the best "among the existing models" by its invisibility. “This is actually a wonderful aircraft, and it may be not only the fifth, but also the sixth generation. It has a huge modernization potential,”the senator believes.

According to Bondarev, the financing of the state armaments program for 2018-2025 will not be reduced in comparison with the currently implemented program for 2011-2020.
