Frank Baker says that during the Vietnam War he faced death more than once, but the worst moment in his life happened much later. Frank for a long time hid what happened to him in June 1995. But recently, for the first time, he decided to discuss the strange incident with the journalists of the Discovery TV channel.
According to the man, during the war he repeatedly looked death in the face and received two Purple Heart awards (US military medal), but the worst moment in his life did not happen on the battlefield, but in his home state of Vermont.
In the summer of 1995, Frank and his friend Peter Willey talked about fishing and hunting while looking at a gun. The men were looking forward to outdoor recreation, so they were in a great mood, but suddenly the atmosphere in the room literally heated up.
“We were getting ready to go fishing, sitting on the couch and talking,” recalls Baker. “My friend Pete was by my side and we were having a damn good time. And then a flame appeared on my body."
Willie, who witnessed the spontaneous combustion of a human being, is next in the conversation: “It was the most terrible thing I have ever seen. Frank clearly could not control what was happening and made me pretty nervous."
Baker panicked and demanded that his friend put out the flames to prevent burns.
“I had no idea what was happening to my body,” the American admits.
In the end, Baker and Willie managed to put out the fire, after which they rushed to the hospital. The doctors' diagnosis was as shocking as the sudden flame that burst from the man's body. Experts said that the patient was a victim of spontaneous combustion.

Doctors examined the patient, but could not find the cause of his strange illness, so they found it difficult to make a diagnosis.
