The Land of the Devil's Trample is a circular clearing with a diameter of 12 meters, located 16 km from the city of Sailer in the state of North Carolina. This place is considered cursed, as it is never overgrown with grass and forest animals always bypass it.
The first mention of this place dates back to the middle of the 20th century, and its author is John William Harden, a journalist from the city of Greensboro. He accidentally discovered a strange clearing in the forest and began to collect information about it.
According to one legend, the grass is trampled by the devil himself, who sometimes walks alone here in circles on dark nights, inventing new temptations and atrocities for the human race. According to the other, it is trampled by witches who arrange a sabbath with ritual dances.
Beliefs also say that in this place you can conclude an agreement with evil spirits. To do this, at midnight you need to light a small fire in the center of the circle, put an object dear to your heart not far from it and make your wish. The price of an item is not important - only a person's attachment to it. After that, you need to slowly leave without turning around. If at dawn the fire went out, and the object disappeared, then the dark forces considered your proposal. Whether they accepted it or not, you will only find out over time …
