Research from Princeton University suggests that an emotion or thought held by several people at the same time can affect physical reality. Thought has power not only in an ideological sense. It manifests itself physically. Thought jointly directed by people is more powerful.
Roger Nelson has been coordinating experiments at the Princeton Engineering Anomaly Research Laboratory (PEAR) for over 20 years. He is currently the director of the Global Consciousness Project, which brings together scientists from around the world to study the power of human consciousness.
In the 90s, PEAR experiments showed that the human mind is capable of influencing a random number generator. This machine outputs zeros or ones. During the experiment, operators were asked to direct their thoughts to the machine so that the generator produced more ones or, conversely, zeros. The results generated by the random number generator were, to a certain extent, consistent with the wishes of the operators, and this figure was higher than in the case of a simple coincidence.
When two people participated in the experiment, the influence on the random number generator increased. It was especially noticeable if there was an emotional connection between these people.
Then the data began to be collected during group events. The random number generator's performance increased more during "concerts, creative events and other emotional events" than during "chaotic situations or routine work," Roger concluded. He spoke about this at the annual conference of the Society for Scientific Research, which took place in May.
As a result of these experiments, Nelson had several important questions. Does the emotional reaction of people to a devastating earthquake somewhere in the world have any effect on reality? Or a major terrorist attack like September 11 in New York? What about the wild emotions of a billion fans during the FIFA World Cup? Could the common joy of people during a big holiday affect our appliances?
He began to seek answers to these questions through the Global Consciousness Project. As part of the project, scientists simultaneously observed the changes in the random number generator during the broadcast of world news about the most important events.

The probability of a coincidence was one in a trillion, and subsequent analysis shows deep unconscious connections between people, which may be the source of correlations found in arbitrary data, Nelson said.
Biologist Rupert Sheldrake views the group's response from a different perspective. For example, a group of animals has been taught to exhibit certain behaviors in response to a specific stimulus. If one group of animals was taught this, the next group adopted this behavior much faster. As a result, it turns out that the second group seems to perceive the model of behavior of the first group, even if there is no physical contact between the two groups of animals.
