Starting on January 12, 1993, due to a strong storm that did not stop for three weeks, small Icelandic ships were forced to take refuge in the Langiness Fjord. By February 6, 1993, the weather had improved and the ships were able to return to sea. Icelandic Coast Guard patrol ships were ordered to return to patrol duty.

For the next few days, everything was quiet when, unexpectedly, all ships in the area received a message from the American Flotilla, in which they ordered everyone to stay in their places and not to approach the three ships.

At the same time, naval vessels outside the designated exclusion zone observed sixteen glowing amber aerial objects that approached the American ships and remained stationary for a short time. After that, all objects simultaneously removed with great speed.

Watching this spectacle, the crews of the ships understood that objects of unknown origin could not be helicopters, since they were too far from the ground.

On April 15, 1993, all ships at the mouth of the Barents Sea were ordered to take part in a covert operation to search for the missing one of three US warships. Russian warships also joined the search operation and worked in conjunction with the NATO land fleet. In one radio message between the Russian ships the following words were heard: "We are engaged in unknown submarines."

The next day, an article “Joint American and Russian Military Exercise” appeared in British newspapers, which spoke of a joint exercise involving elite American and Russian forces, which had been held for the first time since World War II.

However, the mysterious events did not end there. So on April 21, 1993, the crew of an Icelandic Airlines plane flying from London to Iceland reported two large white balloons that were accompanying the plane from the coast of Scotland. Bright luminous UFOs lined up on either side of the plane's tail and moved in this position all the way to Iceland. They left only after the airliner began to land at Rekjavik-Keflavik airport.
