There is an opinion that the prototype of Frankenstein was the German alchemist and scientist Johann Konrad Dippel, whose estate was called Frankenstein. This man tried unsuccessfully to create an elixir of eternal youth. And to get the right substance, he digested the bones of animals and their blood. Modern scientists have found in archival documents the scientist's records of terrible experiments. Dippel boiled parts of human bodies to create a homunculus (artificial creature), and also made countless attempts to transfer the soul of one living creature to another. Very often Johann Konrad added the name of the Frankenstein family estate to his surname. It is believed that it was this person who could well become the main character for the creation of a novel about a monster scientist.

Austrian specialists in the field of neurology, together with scientists of molecular biotechnology, literally grew a human brain from stem cells. While the structure and functionality of the original is still a long way off, the mini-brain will be used to diagnose and treat diseases such as schizophrenia and autism. A grown organ is, of course, different from a normal human brain and has a random structure. In addition, it lacks blood vessels. This is why the brain is so small.

Human head transplant possible
Over the past 150 years, there have been many attempts to transplant the head onto another body. Of course, we are talking only about experiments on animals. So, in 1959, Chinese scientists managed to transplant the head of one dog onto the body of another. And in 1970, a similar surgical operation was carried out on monkeys, by the way, very successfully. But in all cases, problems arose: the head, after joining the spine, did not take root well, and the animals died after a few days. The trouble was that at that time they did not know how to do a spinal cord transplant. However, two years ago, Sergio Canavero, an Italian neurosurgeon, promised in 2017 for the first time a human head transplant. A volunteer has already been selected for this experiment. The experimental will be the Russian Valery Spiridonov,who is sick with a fatal congenital disease - Werdnig-Hoffmann syndrome. Now the man is 30 years old, the disease progresses more and more, so the transplant operation is the only chance for life.
Sergio Canavero himself believes that the main problem will be to connect the spinal cord of the donor and the patient, and a “clean cut” of the spinal cord will be the key to success in such a complex operation.

To do this, elderly patients receive blood transfusions from young people and use electricity on the meninges. By the way, blood transfusion has been carried out only on mice so far, but the technique has shown itself on the positive side. Now scientists have to improve this method a little so that it suits a person.
However, not all doctors agree with the "science of Frankenstein", because its effect on human health is not yet fully known. But scientists are the most desperate and irrepressible madmen who are trying to get to the bottom of the truth. If they have a goal, then no one can stop them.
