Experts say that already in the twenty-first century, artificial intelligence can become so advanced that it can easily raise a hand against its creator, and then the dystopia from the popular film franchise "Terminator" will become a terrible reality for us.
Americans predict that by 2022, the thinking ability of the planet's most advanced artificial intelligence will be about ten percent of that of the human brain. By 2040, computers will only be twice as stupid as we are, and by 2075 robots will become as smart as the scientists who created them, if not smarter, at least the capabilities of their thinking apparatus will be many times superior to that of humans. And whether such advanced machines will agree to fulfill all our whims is a big question.
British researcher Nick Bostre, who teaches at the University of Oxford, is convinced that humanity is inevitably approaching its death, working hard to create the perfect artificial intelligence. Robots are already being instilled with self-awareness, teaching them to make their own decisions, be creative, and even experience some semblance of feelings. Obviously, the best minds on the planet want to get an artificial intelligence, whose thinking abilities will not lag behind and differ from human ones. However, where is the guarantee that such a mind would want to be a servant and not a master?
The worst thing, according to Bostra, is that human curiosity has always been self-destructive. The Briton believes that if scientists have the opportunity to test whether artificial intelligence is capable of aggression, they will certainly provide the robot with the opportunity to show its dark side. And no one will ever give up such research, since our civilization can no longer do without the help of smart machines and will constantly need more and more advanced electronic friends.
