Fog is found in many accounts of unexplained facts, from chronoanomalies to UFO encounters.

Fog is an atmospheric phenomenon, the accumulation of water in the air, when the smallest products of condensation of water vapor are formed. This is a completely common phenomenon, known throughout the globe, but many witnesses of unexplained phenomena associate the appearance of fog with the phenomena in which they witnessed or participated. Such phenomena are rare and to a greater extent are tied to a specific location, but at the same time are common throughout the world.

Below we will briefly review the phenomena that, according to eyewitness accounts, are closely related to the appearance of fog.

Description of the phenomena associated with the appearance of fog

All phenomena accompanied by the appearance of fog can be conditionally divided into the following groups:

- Meeting with ghosts;

- Moving in space (sometimes together with the next);

- Moving in time (sometimes together with the previous one);

Promotional video:

- Meeting with a UFO;

- An unusual type of fog without an accompanying phenomenon.

Below we will describe these phenomena in more detail.

Meeting with ghosts

The appearance of fog when meeting ghosts is a fairly common detail in eyewitness accounts. In addition to describing meetings with foggy figures, witnesses describe the appearance of a certain fog or haze when ghostly silhouettes appear in a room or in an open space. This also includes the appearance of various buildings and techniques that disappear when the fog dissipates. This image is often exploited by various authors in books or films.

Moving in space (sometimes in conjunction with the next)

This group describes a phenomenon that is often found in legends, stories and eyewitness accounts. It consists in the fact that a person (one or several) fall into a thick fog, and then appear in another place (sometimes this distance can reach ten kilometers). Sometimes this phenomenon is compatible with the following, i.e. the time it takes a person to cover this distance does not correspond to the usual time required for this purpose up or down.

The most famous mention of this phenomenon is the Philadelphia Experiment, allegedly conducted by the US Navy on October 28, 1943. During this experiment, the destroyer USS Eldridge with a crew of 181 people allegedly disappeared and then instantly moved in space for several tens of kilometers. It may also include the disappearance of the Norfolk Regiment.

Time travel (sometimes in conjunction with the previous one)

Phenomena of this group are very rare in eyewitness accounts. They tell about the movement of the eyewitness in time (into the past or the future) from several seconds to several hundred years, or the appearance of a person or a group of people from the past or the future from the fog (eyewitnesses calculate this by characteristic details - a suit, a car, etc.).

This phenomenon is associated with the emergence of chronomirages, as well as various disappearances of people and technology. A prime example is the legend of the Bermuda Triangle. Many stories characteristic of this group are described.

UFO encounter

This group of phenomena can be conditionally divided into two subgroups:

- The appearance of the UFOs themselves;

- The appearance of UFOs;

Descriptions of eyewitnesses are similar to descriptions from the first group, with a difference only in the form and identification of the objects that appear. If in the first case these are clear outlines of deceased relatives, acquaintances, or simply people and animals, then in this subgroup unknown creatures are described, differing in "unearthly" details. There is also a lot of evidence when luminous spheres of different sizes and colors appeared in the fog (or from fog), which are usually associated with the UFO phenomenon.

Unusual appearance of fog without accompanying phenomenon

The group "unusual type of fog" includes facts in which the eyewitness does not describe any specific phenomenon or unusual, in his opinion, phenomenon, except for the fog itself. It may appear unusual in shape, color, or location.

The most famous type of fog is "crimson fog" or "fire fog". It is usually described as a wall or "rain of fire". Sometimes it is described by those who have been inside it. It is usually described as "cold fire". A good description is given, inherent in most messages: “Cold, non-scalding fire flows from the protrusions and corners of objects, spreads along walls and ceilings. Having “extinguished”, the fiery fog takes on the usual white tint. This type of fog is described in detail in.

There are also known fogs with "inner glow", green fogs, fogs with clear edges and regular shape, etc.

This division is rather arbitrary, since phenomena often intersect or overlap with each other, so further we will consider hypotheses without divisions by phenomena.

Hypotheses

To begin with, let's take a closer look at what fog is as an atmospheric phenomenon.

Fog appears when moisture accumulates in the air, when the smallest condensation products of water vapor are formed. That is, the relative humidity of the air during fog is usually close to 100% (exceeds 85-90%). However, in severe frosts (-30 ° and below) in settlements, at railway stations and airfields, fogs can be observed at any relative humidity (even less than 50%) - due to condensation of water vapor formed during fuel combustion (in engines, stoves etc.) and emitted into the atmosphere through exhaust pipes and chimneys.

- The first hypothesis follows from this definition: at air temperatures above -10 ° these are the smallest droplets of water, at -10 … -15 ° - a mixture of water droplets and ice crystals, at temperatures below -15 ° - ice crystals sparkling in the sun's rays or in the light of the moon and lanterns.

- Phenomena associated with fog are known atmospheric phenomena or objects of natural origin, mistaken in a certain situation as anomalous (for example, a pollen cloud, Brocken ghost). This also includes such fogs as a suspension of chemicals, the content of various fluorescent microorganisms in the air, etc. As an example, a situation can be cited - fog often occurs on ventilated marshy lowlands, in which poisonous fumes can accumulate, leading to poisoning (marsh gas or vapors of essential oils of some plants, for example, rosemary).

- Visions of fog occur at the level of physiology of perception and are simple, do not add up to an objective image by deceptions of sight along with flashes of light, sparkles, smoke, spots, stripes, dots. The reasons for their appearance can be different.

- The image of fog is often used in psychology (for example, in auto-training) and in hypnosis to indicate the border of the transition from one situation to another. The same image is used by the person himself in a dream. This hypothesis suggests that a person naturally or artificially falls into a trance state and sees some images, while he can overcome long distances, but not remember it. It is worth noting that the sensations of a person during a trance in their brightness and naturalness practically do not differ from the real ones.

- V. Psalomshchikov believes that red fog may be a rare form of the famous aurora borealis, which occurs directly near the earth itself.

- According to the scientific consultant of Solaris, Professor Alexei Labutin, the so-called critics are to blame for everything. These are "fantastic" living beings, consisting of very discharged matter, therefore the human eye does not see them. But in the air saturated with moisture, they become noticeable. This version has something in common with the observations of "classical" humanoid ghosts. It is believed that the energy of a person's soul, free from the body, is capable of ionizing air at certain moments.

- Vasily Andreevich Kropochev, an employee of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, is sure that the fire fog appears due to powerful geomagnetic emissions from the depths of our planets, which, in turn, cause shifts in tectonic plates.

Output

It is impossible to give an exact description of this phenomenon - depending on the fact, the description options vary. The only unifying feature of them is the very presence of fog, while its color, glow, shape, density and other characteristics can change, therefore the combination of these phenomena into one is rather arbitrary.

At the moment, only eyewitness testimony and inspection of the scene of the fact can serve as material for analysis, since no reliable photographs and video materials of this phenomenon have yet been found.
