An unambiguous explanation has not yet been found for this unique anomalous phenomenon. For seven years now, Russian ufologists have been trying to understand who left the unusual autograph … on the fishing tent.
At the end of August 2005, a resident of Zlatoust named Dmitry was vacationing on Lake Turgoyak in the Chelyabinsk region: he fished, was engaged in scuba diving. As Dmitry recalls, the whole vacation he was extremely lucky with the weather: the whole week there was a forty-degree heat and not a drop from the sky. Only on the very last day in the evening did it rain. He stopped pecking, Dmitry turned his fishing rods and began to prepare dinner. I didn't cover my canvas tent with cellophane - I decided that it wouldn't get wet …
That night became a turning point for Dmitry. He stopped doubting that the Universe is inhabited …
NIGHT LIGHT
At about four o'clock in the morning, Dmitry woke up from an unprecedentedly violent mosquito attack. I set fire to an aromatic spiral-repellent … And suddenly a light came on somewhere above the tent. The source of this light was so powerful that it illuminated even the inside of the tent through the sodden tarpaulin. The fisherman did not take risks and did not get out of the shelter - he continued his observation in relative safety.
Dmitry did not hear the noise, he did not see the silhouettes, but he managed to see that the light came from a round or spherical object. Since he reminded the tourist of the ball lightning, which he had already encountered once, Dmitry lay, afraid to move.
After a few minutes (how many, Dmitry does not remember) the light went out. As if someone turned off a mysterious switch. It was not easy to fall asleep after this, and the fisherman lit a primus stove to recover a little. As soon as the primus flame lit up the tent, Dmitry saw a strange silhouette. From the slope of the tent, a creature from a movie about space aliens stared at him …

The rest of the night Dmitry lay looking at the mysterious stranger: two eye sockets, above them small lines, similar to the brow ridges, an elongated face, a nose like the trunk of an elephant or a fly …
In the morning, the tent dried up and the silhouette disappeared. Dmitry decided not to tell anyone about the night incident.
SECOND COMING
A few hours later, Dmitry was picked up by his friend Sergei. The week of rest is over, they began to collect belongings and prepare for departure. And then it began to rain. The night visitor again stared at the friends from the tarp of the tent …
They decided to move the tent to Zlatoust and show it to the skeet specialists. From the local branch of "Kosmopoisk" information came to us, to "Chelyabinsk-Kosmopoisk", and our research group joined in solving the mysterious "Case of the Turgoyak alien."
ONLY HYPOTHESES
First of all, I came to Zlatoust, where I met with the eyewitness himself - the owner of the “anomalous tent”. After the interview, Dmitry decided to demonstrate a miracle and wet the tarp with water. The drawing appeared - right before my eyes!
We have not found an analogue to this strange case in the history of world anomalistics. However, the nature of the unusual pattern can be explained by the effect of keranography. It consists in applying the projection of the image not to photographic paper, but to other surfaces. This happens sometimes after a flash of lightning - images of nearby objects appear on objects, on the skin of a person or animal. How? This is still unknown to science.
The source of light above the tent could be ball lightning, a plasmoid, even a UFO - none of these phenomena is exotic for Turgoyak: the most outlandish anomalies are often observed in the lake area.
But who is captured in the "picture"? Colleagues put forward a lot of hypotheses: an insect, whose projection onto the tent was increased due to the effect of light-typing; a bizarre plexus of branches: an alien of an insectoid race … This really can only be anyone's guess.
Some researchers of the unknown, connected to the "Case of the Turgoyak Alien", even saw in this artifact a certain analogue of the Turin Shroud with the face of Christ appearing on it.
Well, anything can be. Practitioners in the field of anomalistics know that sometimes even the most fantastic hypotheses turn out to be true, despite their obvious "unscientific nature" …

- Perhaps the source of the unusual night light was geoelectricity. It can accumulate in the ground at fracture sites, which eventually fill with quartzite. Movement of rocks leads to the compression of quartzite and the accumulation of static electricity in it. Under certain conditions, it can "drain" into the atmosphere, which leads to the appearance of self-luminous formations in the form of light columns, "dumbbells" and balls. These latter are most often mistaken for UFOs.
It can be assumed that the tent was set up on one of these breaks. It got wet during the rain and became a good conductor for geoelectricity. Its release may have changed the structure of the tent fabric. Similar silhouettes are "drawn" by static electricity on film.

- Nowadays, fabrics are known that can change their color. These include hydrochromic material. The cobalt salts included in its composition, by adding crystallization water, change the color of the fabric from blue to red. So, if a small white linen handkerchief is kept in a solution of cobalt chloride for some time, then it will be pink in color. When the scarf dries, the color will change to blue. However, inorganic crystalline salts are easily washed out of the fabric, so such a chameleon shawl soon loses its properties.
If you start from the nature of the tent material, you can come to interesting conclusions. Tarpaulin is a dense linen or semi-linen fabric, plain weave, made of thick yarn. The Shroud of Turin is also made of flax! Linen is highly hygroscopic (moisture-absorbing) and has a low electrostatic charge. With an increased moisture content on the surface of such a material or in the fibers themselves, the electrical conductivity of the fabric increases, which allows it to dissipate static electricity. It is quite possible that the manifestation of the pattern is based on this effect. However, I repeat, to obtain such an effect, the presence of some hydrochromic agent among the fibers of the fabric, capable of polarization and color change, is required.
In conclusion, I would like to add that with the development of nanotechnology, smart textile appeared - “smart textile”. This material is based on photo-, thermo- or hydrochromic dyes, which allow fabrics to change color under the influence of light rays, temperature, humidity. Some smart fabrics even change color depending on the color of the room or area. These fabrics are a symbiosis of textiles, microelectronics and special chemicals. Of course, the old tarpaulin tent has nothing to do with them.
