A resident of Uttar Pradesh in northern India tried to marry a snake. Reported by The Daily Mirror.

27-year-old Sandeep Patel was convinced that the cobra in a past life was a beautiful girl and now fell in love with him.

More than 12 thousand people came to the wedding ceremony, which took place in one of the local temples. However, the wedding was disrupted by police officers.

Police officers who arrived at the temple detained Patel and his father, who was present at the ceremony, for disturbing public order. It is noted that the guests were disappointed with the detention, and law enforcement officers had to call for reinforcements to disperse them to their homes.

According to Patel, at night, entering a deep trance, he himself could turn into a snake and communicate with his beloved.

This is not the first such case. The Daily Mirror recalls that in 2006, in the Indian state of Orissa, the wedding ceremony of 30-year-old Bimbala Das and a snake took place. The woman came to the wedding wearing her finest silk sari, and the temple attendants chanted sacred mantras for an hour. At the same time, the groom did not appear at the wedding - instead of him, a copper statuette in the form of a reptile was placed in the temple.
