For almost ten years this criminal case was considered unsolved.
Early on Monday morning, a tall, respectable man entered the duty section of the Khmelnitsky police station:
- I killed a man in a hostel on Chekhov Street. Now I want to write a confession.
Andrei got married two years ago, they had a son with Maria. But his soul did not calm down …
The duty officer raised his head in bewilderment: no calls had been received from Chekhov Street. In addition, the man himself does not in any way look like a killer.
- I really killed a man! The girl. In November 2003, the man hastily explained.
Half an hour later, Andrei was already writing a statement of sincere confession in the investigator's office.
… Late in the evening of November 14, 2003, twenty-year-old Andrei, together with two classmates, came to another classmate in a student hostel on Chekhov Street. In anticipation of a merry feast, the guys bought a drink, but the owner of the room was not at home. Without thinking twice, the students sat down right in the hallway of the hostel and began to drink.

After some time, 22-year-old Anna returned home to the next room. The girl was already tipsy and, seeing the drinking guys, she spoke to them herself:
- Guys, why are you hanging out in the corridor? Come to me, let's rest together, like normal people!
The booze ended very quickly. And just as imperceptibly, the sweet conversation between Andrei and Anna turned into a quarrel. Word for word, and the young people grappled so that Andrei, who lost his temper, grabbed a kitchen knife that turned up under his arm and hit the owner of the room four times with it.
Friends immediately sobered up, and quickly left the hostel.
The police opened a criminal case. But they could not find the killer. The case was sent to the archive.
Andrey started drinking heavily. I tried to forget the picture: a knife in my hand and a girl covered in blood. But after a few years he stopped drinking, opened his own store selling mobile phones, and in 2010 married Masha.
The bride's parents could not get enough of it: their daughter got such a thorough husband! The happy newlywed, who drank only juice at his own wedding, once again proved that their Masha's husband was a serious man!
But by that time Andrei was already suffering from nightmares. More and more often he saw dead Anna in his dreams.
In 2011, a son was born to Andrei and Maria. It would seem to be happy here and enjoy life, but Andrei began to withdraw into himself more and more often. Almost every night Anna appeared to him in a dream with the words: “Repent, you still have time. Then it will be worse!"
The man could not stand it and went to the police
Andriy's act surprised the militiamen. Having resumed the case under the murder article, they did not even take a written undertaking not to leave Andrei. Andrei's wife cannot believe that her husband is a murderer.
