Developers from an American startup decided to compete with Amazon by releasing their own artificial intelligence system that can automate any store. Earlier, Amazon introduced a "smart" store with a fully automated service in the United States, but soon any businessman who owns retail space will be able to compete with the giant of online commerce.
The solution, developed by AiFi specialists, assumes not only the absence of sellers, but also of cash registers. The buyer just has to go inside the store, choose the product he likes and go on about his business. Money is debited automatically for a purchase - the AI algorithm will do everything on its own. AiFi explains that their solution makes it easy to automate any existing store or supermarket, while Amazon has to completely modernize the outlet.
In addition to the fact that AI from AiFi is able to independently dispense goods and calculate customers, it is able to collect data on how visitors behave. By collecting statistics and analyzing the information received, the program over time learns to better manage the store and serve customers. The collected data array is processed and then transmitted to the owners, who can also take note of the information.
The head of the AiFi startup noted that testing of the system will begin at the end of 2018 - the first store will open closer to Christmas and New Year. After AiFi tests its development, the company plans to open a chain of similar "smart" supermarkets.
