In the period 2040-2050, a Russian base will appear on the surface of a natural satellite of our planet, designed to carry out complex scientific research. Alexander Kaleri, head of the flight service of the Energia rocket and space corporation, shared the relevant information with the press.
Kaleri showed reporters slides from which it follows that the construction of the lunar base will be carried out in the forties and fifties of this century. The next stage is to study the prospects for resource extraction on the Moon.
Preparations for the construction of a domestic lunar base will start in 2031. More precisely, by this time a specific place for the construction of the base will have already been determined, so preparation will begin even earlier
At the moment, as noted by Alexander Kaleri, the main program that determines the prospects for the future lunar base is the development of the manned spacecraft "Federation". Which, we recall, will be launched for the first time in unmanned mode in 2022, and in controlled mode in 2024.
Not so long ago, RSC Energia CEO Vladimir Solntsev promised to land the first astronaut from the Russian Federation on the lunar surface by 2031.
