Against the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic, medical masks have become relevant and even a mandatory attribute for going out. In Ukraine and the Czech Republic, without them, it is forbidden even to travel by public transport.
However, 95% of people wear the mask incorrectly. Let's see why
The mask consists of two layers. The green layer is treated with a special substance that neutralizes microbes and prevents them from entering the respiratory tract. And the white layer serves as a filter.
Unfortunately, false information is circulating on the Internet that the mask should be put on with different sides out, depending on whether you are sick or not. This is not true.
Besides, wearing a mask on the street doesn't make sense. It is necessary to cover the face only in rooms, in transport or in direct contact with a sick person. Outdoors, the risk of infection is minimal, and if someone sneezes on you, a mask won't help.
And remember that any mask lasts only a few hours. After that, the impregnating agent loses its protective qualities.

When should you wear a mask?
- Healthy people should only wear a mask if they are caring for a person with suspected 2019-nCoV infection.
- Wear a mask if you cough or sneeze.
- Masks are effective only when combined with regular hand rubbing with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.
- If you use a mask, you should know the rules for the use and disposal of disposable medical masks.
How to put on, use, take off and dispose of the mask?
- Before putting on the mask, clean your hands with alcohol or wash them with soap and water.
- Put on the mask so that it covers your nose and mouth with no gaps between your face and mask.
- Do not touch the mask during use; if touching, treat hands with alcohol and wash them with soap and water.
- As soon as the mask becomes damp, replace it with a new one and do not reuse disposable masks.
- To remove the mask: remove the mask by holding the elastic bands at the back (without touching the front of the mask); and discard immediately in a resealable waste container; use alcohol or soap and water on your hands.
