During excavations in Spain, archaeologists have found several amazing rock carvings that date back to the Paleolithic period. This news was shared by The Guardian.
Researchers have found about 70 images in one underground cave in the far north of the country. The drawings depicted horses, bulls, goats, deer and other animals. Historians believe that they can be from 12.5 to 14.5 thousand years old.
This cave was discovered back in the 20s of the last century, they began to study only in the 34-35s, but then scientists found practically nothing and stopped excavating. They resumed work only in 2014. Experts cannot yet say for sure whether these drawings will become as famous as those found earlier in prehistoric caves in Spain, but the mood in archaeologists is optimistic.
The cave is not easy to get to, so it is unlikely to be open to visitors. However, it is possible to arrange a 3D exposure with the images found.
Experts drew attention to the drawing of a bull, on the body of which about two dozen copies are stuck. Usually there are four or five copies drawn on this kind of images, but there are almost 20 of them, and scientists cannot yet explain this.
