Startled eyewitnesses saw a stunning rainbow cloud form in the sky over Brazil this week. This amazing event was filmed on December 6, 2016 by Jean Olivier, a resident of the city of Caxias (see the video below).
While creative minds may think that an invisible UFO hid under a protective cloak in this cloud, or perhaps a portal to another world has opened, in fact, this rather colorful sight has a completely prosaic explanation.
According to meteorologists, white clouds can turn into spectral colors if sunlight refracts in water droplets. In this case, the rays of light of different wavelengths are deflected in different ways, which means that the light of these waves comes to the observer from different directions.
Such a completely iridescent cloud with vibrant saturated colors is quite rare. For its formation, it is necessary that the water droplets in the cloud are of the same size.
And while this natural explanation may disappoint some paranormal hunters, the fact that such tiny particles of water can create such an amazing sight is as fantastic as if the cloud were of alien origin.
