Accidental pictures taken by a young family while visiting Demir Baba Teke area blew up social networks.

In the background of the photographs, the ghostly figure of a monk in a white cassock with a hood is clearly visible. Moreover, the image of the ghost is quite clear, with a magnification you can even see a necklace made from the teeth of some animals.

In the comments to the photographs, different opinions are expressed, from the belief that these are the souls of dead monks to the opinion that the photo is the result of editing. However, it should be noted that the area of Damir baba teke is unique and mysterious. The very name Demir Baba Teke translates as "Mausoleum of the Iron Father" and was built in honor of the historical personality of Hasan Demir Baba Pekhlivan in the 16th century. He was proclaimed the holy spiritual leader of the Alawite Muslims who lived in Bulgaria at that time.

Now the Demir Baba Teke complex includes a mausoleum with a tomb of a Muslim saint, built in the form of a heptagonal building with a large dome. The sarcophagus of the saint is inside and is located strictly with his head to the southwest.

According to archaeologists, once upon a time there was a Thracian sanctuary on this site, and the sacred Thracian well and sacrificial stone on which the rituals were carried out are still preserved. Then on this site was built the Christian monastery of St. George, which ceased to exist during the Ottoman conquest.

And only later, in the 16th century, on this place, consecrated by previous peoples and religions, was the mausoleum of the Alawite saint built. Therefore, this place is still a place of pilgrimage for both Christians and Muslims.

The area itself Demir baba teke is located in the historical and archaeological reserve Sboryanovo, a place that was considered sacred even under the Hittites. According to eyewitnesses, the mysticism of this place is huge, it was here that the treasure of the Omurtag grave was discovered relatively recently. Until now, there are round-the-clock patrols in the reserve and photography is prohibited.
