This does not mean that you need to be secretive. It just makes sense to protect yourself from emotional (and sometimes even physical) harm by keeping some of the facts secret.

Sharing secrets of your love life with others will lead to disaster in the long run. In the modern world, there is almost no trust left. It is very difficult to find an honest person who is worth trusting.
So why tell such intimate things to outsiders? Keep them with you. Nobody can destroy what they don't even know about.
3. Family problems
Everyone has family conflicts. But every family finds its way out.
Love, hate and other violent feelings are everyone's personal business. Outsiders do not need to know about this.
4. Property
Bragging about material goods can be misunderstood by others. You never know how outsiders will react to your bragging rights.
There are people in the world who are ready to risk their lives just to get what you have. Some do not even have access to clean water, and some can barely scrape together money for food.
5. Good deeds
The world is sorely lacking in kindness. But you cannot do good only in front of others.
If you want to help someone, do it sincerely, and not for the sake of compliments and praise.
6. Money
Telling others about your finances is unwise. There is no need for outsiders to know your salary.
Asking a person how much he earns is a manifestation of disrespect and bad manners. Only fools talk about money out loud. Your finances are your own business and nobody else's.
